A FEW WORDS TO GET YOU STARTED

What to write in a sympathy card

Keep it simple and sincere. Acknowledge the loss, share a kind memory if you have one, and avoid assumptions about how they feel or what they believe.

A simple message

I am so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and your family with care.

A shared memory

I will always remember how warmly they welcomed me. I am grateful to have known them.

From colleagues

We are thinking of you. There is no need to reply to this card; we just wanted you to know we care.

An offer of company

I am here if you would like some company, a walk, or someone to listen. Sending you love.
